University Health, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, is a nationally recognized academic medical center and comprehensive network of clinics. It has been serving the community for over 100 years, providing high-quality care and specialized services including trauma care, transplant services, and maternal and neonatal intensive care.
The organization is expanding its facilities to meet the needs of a growing population, including new hospitals scheduled to open in 2026-2027. To support this expansion, University Health seeks a clearinghouse partner to enhance its revenue cycle management capabilities.
Work Details
The contractor will provide Revenue Cycle Systems and Management Services which include:
- Standardizing data exchange between hospitals and clinics
- Improving claims processing and reimbursement accuracy
- Enhancing interoperability with payers and regulatory agencies
- Supporting compliance with HIPAA and CMS regulations
- Enabling scalability for future expansions
- Integrating fully with the Epic EHR system
- Managing revenue cycles efficiently
- Reducing administrative burdens on staff
- Improving patient experiences through faster claims resolution
- Laying a foundation for future innovations in healthcare analytics.
The contract will be awarded for three years with two one-year renewal options.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and will last for three years with two optional one-year renewals.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various University Health facilities located in Bexar County, Texas.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all applicable laws including HIPAA regulations. They are required to register through University Health’s Bonfire e-Procurement Portal. Successful bidders must provide proof of insurance within ten days of award and maintain all necessary licenses and permits. Subcontracting plans must be submitted as part of the proposal.
