Work Requested (Scope of the Contract):

Houston Independent School District (HISD) is seeking proposals from qualified individuals and/or organizations for the following services:

• Maintenance of elevators and wheelchair lifts
• Inspection of elevators and wheelchair lifts
• Repairs of elevators and wheelchair lifts

These services are to be provided as specified within this Request for Proposals (RFP) under Project Name: Elevators and Wheelchair Lifts Maintenance, Inspection, and Repairs (HISD Project Number: 26-02-10).

Who is Requesting:

This solicitation is issued by the Houston Independent School District (HISD).

Background on the Contract:

In accordance with HISD policies and procedures, only "Approved Vendors" those who have met pre-determined criteria through a formal procurement process and have been awarded a contract upon approval by the HISD Board of Managers are authorized to provide goods and/or services to HISD schools and departments.

The process to become an Approved Vendor begins by responding to this solicitation and submitting all required documentation. After the evaluation process and verification of compliance with HISD's liability insurance requirements and the Minority/Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) Program, one or more vendors will be recommended to the Board of Education for contract award. Upon formal approval by the Board, the HISD Purchasing Services department will issue a Notice of Award letter, confirming the awarded vendor(s) as Approved Vendor(s) for this specific project.

The tentative term of this project is from June 12, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with four (4) automatic annual renewals, not to extend beyond June 11, 2031.

Contract Requirements:

• Vendors must comply with HISD liability insurance requirements.
• Vendors must participate in and comply with the MWBE Program.
• All required information and documentation must be submitted as part of the proposal.

Instructions on Submission:

Interested vendors must respond to this solicitation by submitting all required information and documentation as specified in the RFP. Only those who complete this process and are approved will be eligible for contract award and to provide services to HISD.
