Quakertown Memorial Park and/or East Campus Fitness Trails and Pavilion

Background
Texas Woman’s University (TWU) is soliciting Competitive Sealed Proposals from responsive and responsible proposers for the selection of General Contractor firm(s) for two projects: Quakertown Memorial Park (#100201) and East Campus Fitness Trails and Pavilion (#100547).

The goal of these projects is to enhance the university's facilities and provide improved outdoor spaces for students and the community. TWU aims to award contracts based on the best value offered by the proposers, in accordance with Texas Education Code §51.783(d).

Work Details
The project scope includes:
- Quakertown Memorial Park, which features a commemorative garden and an amphitheater/outdoor classroom. This park will include seating, lighting, and monument signs.
- East Campus Fitness Trails and Pavilion, which consists of approximately 0.53 miles of concrete trail connections, two new bench pads, seven fitness stations along the existing trail network, and a one-story pavilion building measuring 2,406 gross square feet.

The pavilion will have steel framing with a slab-on-grade foundation on spread footings, face brick exterior walls over concrete masonry unit backup, a standing seam metal roof over plywood sheathing on a steel deck, and will include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and security systems. Site work will involve new concrete flatwork, landscaping improvements, existing trail enhancements, and installation of fitness equipment.

Period of Performance
The anticipated timeline for this project includes issuing the RFP on September 13, 2024; holding a pre-submittal conference on September 27, 2024; receiving written inquiries until October 7, 2024; providing responses to inquiries by October 22, 2024; with proposals due on November 7, 2024.

The contract award is expected by December 7, 2024.

Place of Performance
The projects will be performed at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. The specific locations include a portion of the existing TWU golf course situated east of Parliament Village Student housing.
