Piping Insulation Repair/Replacement Richmond State Supported Living Center

Background
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is an agency within the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) system. The Procurement and Contracting Services (PCS) division of HHSC administers Invitations for Bids (IFBs) for HHS. HHSC PCS is seeking competitive bids to establish contracts for chill water piping, steam piping, and domestic water piping insulation repair and replacement at the Richmond State Supported Living Center. Both HHS Agencies, HHSC and DSHS, will be entitled to use any contract awarded as a result of this IFB.

Work Details
The required services include the repair, removal, and replacement of piping insulation for 370 linear feet of chill water piping, steam piping, and domestic piping at the Richmond State Supported Living Center. Specific tasks include:

1. Cutting and removal of old insulation.

2. Replacement of insulation on chill water piping at various locations:
- Secondary Chilled Water Pump (Schwp) 1 & 2: Replace 39 linear feet of pump insulation.
- Chiller 1: Replace insulation on chill water lines from chiller to valve before the header.
- Chiller 2: Replace insulation from chiller to just after valve shut off.
- Multiple sections of chill water heading insulation to match existing.
- Primary Chilled Water Pump (Pchwp) 1 & 2: Replace pump insulation up to valve shut off.

3. Remove and replace portions of steam piping insulation with fiberglass pipe insulation rated for steam.

4. Insulate domestic water piping.

The contractor is responsible for the disposal of removed insulation in compliance with all state and local codes.

Period of Performance
Contractor shall perform contracted services Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central Time. The anticipated contract start date is upon award.
