Background
The City of Austin’s Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals experienced in tennis facility management to operate, manage, and maintain the Caswell Tennis Center. This facility is one of four municipal tennis centers in Austin, Texas, offering year-round tennis play and supervised activities. The center has a rich history dating back to its construction in 1948 and has undergone several renovations to enhance its facilities.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the exclusive management of tennis-related activities at the Caswell Tennis Center located at 2312 Shoal Creek Blvd, Austin, Texas 78705. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing operations including all technical and professional expertise required for the center's operation.
2. Offering diverse programming such as group lessons, private lessons, leagues, cardio tennis workouts, tournaments, camps, and junior/senior programming.
3. Providing services like racquet stringing, ball machine rentals, sales of tennis equipment and concessions.
4. Ensuring compliance with all city regulations and maintaining necessary permits.
5. Conducting customer service training for staff and implementing a customer complaint resolution process.
6. Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards at the facility including daily custodial duties as outlined in the Caswell Facility Maintenance Plan.
Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of 36 months with the possibility of two additional 36-month extensions at the City’s discretion.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of three years of continuous experience providing similar management services and five years in tennis facility management or equivalent experience. They must maintain certifications for CPR, First Aid, and AED training; operate from a permanent business address; provide a single point-of-contact for contract discussions; and ensure all staff pass criminal background investigations.
