MALDI Biotyper sirius CA System

Background
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking competitive bids to establish contracts for the MALDI Biotyper® sirius CA System, an in vitro diagnostic system that analyzes protein fingerprint spectra from isolated Gram negative, Gram positive, and yeast bacterial colonies cultured from patient specimens suspected of bacterial infection. This system utilizes MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry technology and is specifically configured for tuberculosis identification for research purposes at the DSHS Laboratories in Texas. Both HHSC and DSHS agencies will be entitled to use any contract awarded as a result of this IFB.

Work Details
The contract involves providing the MALDI Biotyper® sirius CA System, which includes:
- Analyzing protein fingerprint spectra primarily from ribosomal proteins.
- Configuration for tuberculosis identification.
- Compliance with specifications outlined in Exhibit C - Pricing Sheet, which includes part numbers and configurations from the manufacturer Bruker Daltonik GmbH.
- Delivery must adhere to guidelines including labeling requirements, delivery scheduling between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and ensuring products meet specified standards without substitutions unless approved by HHSC.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract start date is May 14, 2025, with an initial contract term expiring on August 31, 2025. The HHS Agency may extend the contract for up to one additional year based on funding availability.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the DSHS Laboratories in Texas, with deliveries made to specified addresses as outlined in individual purchase orders.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all requirements outlined in the IFB including submission of a comprehensive response that meets all qualifications. There are no specific set-aside certifications required for this bid; however, bidders are encouraged to submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan if subcontracting opportunities are identified.
