Lufkin State Supported Living Center Pest Control

Background
The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking qualified vendors to provide pest control services at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center located in Pollok, Texas. This initiative aims to ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents by addressing pest infestations effectively. The awarded contract will be utilized by both HHSC and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for pest control services across 68 buildings totaling approximately 368,000 square feet. Services include:

1. Control of various pests such as roaches, ants, silverfish, fleas, mites, spiders, moths, crickets, grasshoppers, and scorpions.
2. Treatment for rats, mice, bats including burrow control and fire ants within 5 feet of buildings.
3. Control of flies and mosquitoes around stagnant water.
4. Termite control.
5. Rodent disposal.
6. Bed bug treatment as needed.

All methods must comply with federal and state regulations; the use of Thallium is prohibited. The contractor must respond to emergency service calls within two hours and provide a written report after each service detailing work performed.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract start date is September 1, 2024. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM excluding holidays; however, emergency services may be required outside these hours.
