Linen & Scrubs, Laundry, Rental and Processing Services

Background
The University of Texas at Austin, on behalf of Dell Medical School – Ambulatory Surgical Center (DMS-ASC), is seeking quotations from qualified service providers for linen and scrubs, laundry, rental, and processing services. This initiative aims to enhance the quality and delivery of these services while reducing costs, aligning with the institution's mission to provide high-quality healthcare.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive linen and laundry rental and processing services including:

1. A work plan detailing quality, quantity, delivery, and management expertise for satisfactory contract performance.
2. Compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including CDC and OSHA.
3. Provision of clean linen and scrubs for at least 13 preoperative rooms, 4 operating rooms, and 8 PACU bays.
4. Packaging of laundry prior to transport to prevent contamination.
5. On-site laundry support for organizing linens.
6. Routine audits at least quarterly to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
7. Ability to perform ad hoc pickups and deliveries.
8. A garment tracking system or linen management software.
9. Regular reports on linen counts and measures for loss prevention.
10. Documented quality control procedures ensuring cleanliness and integrity of textiles.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to have an initial term of three (3) years with two (2) additional one (1) year renewals.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Dell Medical School – Ambulatory Surgical Center located at 1601 Trinity Street, Bldg. A Suite 1.106, Austin, TX 79901.

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must comply with Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) requirements including submission of a HUB Subcontracting Plan (E-HSP) if subcontracting opportunities are probable. The goal for this solicitation is set at 26%. Respondents must also provide proof of insurance including commercial general liability and workers’ compensation insurance upon award.
