Background
Denton County, Texas is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB #25-2894) for Language and American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services. Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services upon activation by Denton County Office of Emergency Management (OEM):
- Real-time Interpretation: Language and ASL interpretation during live press briefings, emergency updates, and public communications, with options for on-site or remote participation.
- Written Translation: Translation of emergency-related written materials including press releases, social media updates, flyers, signage, shelter instructions, and notifications.
- Operational Support: Language assistance at emergency shelters, disaster response sites, or the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), including translating documents and facilitating communication between responders and the public.
- Remote & On-Site Capabilities: Services can be performed in-person or via remote platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
The languages covered include Spanish, ASL, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Tagalog/Filipino, Burmese/Khmer among others as needed. All bid unit prices must be all-inclusive with no additional fees unless expressly stated in the contract.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from the date of award through May 31, 2027, with an option to renew for four additional one-year terms at the discretion of the Denton County Commissioners Court.
Place of Performance
Services will be provided at various locations including Denton County Emergency Operations Center, field locations such as shelters and points of distribution, virtual platforms, and other locations designated by Denton County OEM.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must ensure that all interpreters and translators are certified in their respective languages and demonstrate fluency in English and the target language.
