Landscaping Maintenance Services

Background
The Judson Independent School District (JISD) is a public school district serving multiple cities in Texas, including Converse, Kirby, and Live Oak. The district encompasses 55.87 square miles and has an average daily attendance of approximately 23,100 students with about 3,100 employees. JISD aims to maintain its properties effectively through the procurement of landscaping maintenance services to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Work Details
The contract requires the vendor to provide all labor, fuel, materials, equipment, and accessories necessary for landscaping maintenance at selected JISD properties. This includes:
- Mowing services with a frequency of two cuts per month during the mowing season (March 1st – November 30th) and one cut per month during the off-season (November 30th – February 28th).
- String trimming around fences, structures, trees, sidewalks, and curbs.
- Power-blowing to remove debris from sidewalks and other areas after mowing.
- Policing areas to remove trash before mowing.
- Maintenance of landscape vegetation at various sites throughout the district with approximately twenty-three cuttings needed annually per campus/facility.
- The vendor must provide a mowing schedule covering at least three months post-award and submit monthly reports certifying completed work.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on or about April 17, 2026, for an initial period of two years with options for three additional one-year extensions.

Place of Performance
Landscaping maintenance services will be performed at various Judson Independent School District properties located in Converse, Kirby, Live Oak, and portions of San Antonio.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must be established companies providing landscaping services. They are required to comply with Senate Bill 9 certification regarding criminal history background checks for employees who will have direct contact with students. Vendors must also provide proof of insurance coverage including general liability insurance ($1 million per incident), automobile liability insurance ($100k/$300k bodily injury), workers' compensation insurance ($500k), and must adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations.
