Description

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MD Anderson) is hereby contracting for laboratory services. The services are for analysis of mold, bacterial, United States Pharmacopeia (USP) 797, Asbestos, and Legionella samples. The samples are collected from air, water, and surfaces. Environmental Health and Safety, Sustainability and Emergency Management (EHSSEM) employees collect more than 5,000 samples per year in pharmacies, patient care areas, and throughout the water distribution systems to maintain a safe environment for our patients. All collected samples would be submitted to the laboratory, if necessary for analysis.

A pre-submittal conference will be held at the time and location described: Monday, May 20, 2024 - 10:00am - 11:00am (CST) via ZOOM. Attendance at the pre-submittal conference is optional. Background
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MD Anderson) is contracting for laboratory services for the analysis of mold, bacterial, United States Pharmacopeia (USP) 797, Asbestos, and Legionella samples. The samples are collected from air, water, and surfaces by Environmental Health and Safety, Sustainability and Emergency Management (EHSSEM) employees to maintain a safe environment for patients. The goal is to provide specific information and instruct the laboratory vendor to perform analysis on small and large scale sampling projects.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, material, equipment, supervision, and services to analyze the submitted samples. The services include analysis of Legionella water and swab samples using CDC method, analysis of water and ice samples for fungal contaminants, plate counts for bacterial colonies collected for USP797 compliance, species identification for bacteria isolates identified as Gram-negative rods and Coagulase-positive staphylococci for USP797 compliance, species identification for bacterial isolates and fungal isolates identified as Aspergillus, Fusarium, Rhizopus, and Mucor for USP797 compliance.

Genus and species identification for non USP797 samples collected for fungal analysis identified as Aspergillus, Fusarium, Rhizopus, and Mucor.

Period of Performance
The RFP event was published on May 13, 2024. The pre-submittal conference will be held on May 20, 2024. The RFP solicitation closes on June 12, 2024 at 5:00 PM (CST).

Place of Performance
The laboratory services will be performed at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
