Kwalu Furniture at the Alfredo Gonzalez State Veterans Home in McAllen, Texas

Background
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) are issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to solicit bids from qualified vendors to furnish and install various furniture items for the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen, Texas. This initiative aims to enhance the living conditions for residents at the facility, ensuring they have access to quality furniture that meets specific standards.

Work Details
The contract involves furnishing and installing Kwalu furniture items as specified in Section 2.1 of the IFB. The specific classes and items include:

- Class 410 / Item 33
- Class 410 / Item 34
- Class 410 / Item 66
- Class 420 / Item 30
- Class 420 / Item 34
- Class 420 / Item 40

The vendor is responsible for all labor, materials, tools, supplies, equipment, insurance, and personnel necessary for the delivery and installation of these items. The installation must include 'white glove' service which entails unpacking, assembling furniture, placing it appropriately within the facility, and removing all packing materials. Delivery must occur within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of order.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a timeframe that allows for delivery and installation within ninety (90) days after order placement.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home located at 301 East Yuma Avenue, McAllen, Texas 78503.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have been in business providing similar services for a minimum of three years or have principals/owners with at least five years of relevant experience. Bidders must provide a HUB Subcontracting Plan as part of their submission. Additionally, bidders are required to follow safety protocols during installation and ensure that all fabrics and finishes used are approved by the manufacturer.
