Invitation to Bid - Demolition & Asbestos Removal of 7-Story Commercial Building with Grain Elevator

Background
The City of Sherman, Texas, is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB No. 2025-16) for the demolition and asbestos removal of a seven-story commercial building with a grain elevator. The goal of this contract is to safely and effectively remove the specified structures while adhering to all local regulations and safety standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor and materials necessary for the following tasks:
- Demolish and haul away the existing seven-story concrete structure.
- Demolish and haul away associated basement walls.
- Perforate the basement slab to allow for drainage, leaving it in place.
- Demolish and haul away the grain silo structure and associated foundation down to 2 feet adjacent grade.
- Separate a single-story building on the western side from the grain elevators that are noted to remain.
- Demolish and haul away the noted western single-story building and its associated foundation down to 2 feet adjacent grade.
- Grade the site to ensure proper drainage post-demolition with assistance from City Crew.
- Acquire necessary demolition permits.
- File state-required 10-day notification for asbestos remediation concerning all windows of the seven-story structure and grain elevator as per included survey.

Period of Performance
The contractor is expected to mobilize on-site within seven calendar days of the preconstruction meeting date, which will be determined after the effective date of this agreement. All services must be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days from that mobilization date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at 518 E. Houston Street, Sherman, Texas, 75090.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with specific insurance requirements including naming the City of Sherman as additional insured on general liability policies, providing a waiver of subrogation against the City, and maintaining minimum coverage limits as specified in the insurance checklist. Additionally, bidders must submit a completed conflict of interest questionnaire and an affidavit of no prohibited interest as part of their bid submission.
