Institutional Courier Services

Background
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MD Anderson) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide courier services within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) and the Houston Metropolitan area. The goal of this contract is to ensure reliable and efficient transportation of materials, including medical devices and specimens, to support the operations of MD Anderson.

Work Details
The contractor will provide courier services for dedicated routes as well as on an ad-hoc basis. Specific requirements include:
- Transportation of medical devices and specimens with adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Capability for continuous temperature and humidity monitoring during transport.
- Provision of vehicles with non-porous, wipeable surfaces for safe storage and transportation.
- Compliance with hazardous materials training for staff involved in courier services.
- Implementation of protocols for emergency response, including spill containment for hazardous materials.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to run for a duration specified in the proposal, typically covering multiple years based on performance evaluations.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) and the broader Houston Metropolitan area.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Subcontracting Plan as part of their proposal submission. Contractors must have a minimum of five years in business under the same legal name, provide proof of financial stability, and demonstrate experience with similar contracts within the Texas Medical Center.
