Install Transformer - Substation at Beto Unit

Background
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is seeking proposals to install a new owner-furnished transformer as a backup to a current in-service transformer in the Substation at the Beto Unit located in Tennessee Colony, Texas. This project is part of TDCJ's mission to ensure the safety and security of its facilities and operations. The installation is to be guided by construction plans prepared by HDR Architecture, Inc./TDCJ.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the installation of a new transformer as specified in the provided construction plans. The work includes ensuring that all specifications and licensing requirements are met, as outlined in the solicitation documents. Respondents must also submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan (HSP) detailing their efforts to include Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) in the contract. Failure to submit a completed HSP will result in rejection of the proposal. Additionally, respondents must be bondable and insurable at required levels, with performance and payment bonds required at 100% of the contract amount upon award.

Period of Performance
The performance period is set to begin upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed at the Pre-Construction Meeting, which is scheduled for April 16, 2025.

The work will be performed at the Beto Unit located at 1391 FM 3328, Tennessee Colony, Texas 75880.
