IH 35 Bridge Lighting

The City of Waco is requesting proposals for the provision and installation of new bridge lighting fixtures, controllers, and related components, as well as technical support, for a portion of the existing lighting system on the IH 35 frontage road bridges in downtown Waco. The work under this contract involves replacing the lighting fixtures on Columns B & D with new, durable, weather- and moisture-resistant systems that are easier to maintain and ensure long-term reliability. The remaining columns will retain their existing fixtures for now, with the possibility of gradual replacement over the next several years at the City's discretion. The City requires that all work on Columns B & D be completed by January 1, 2026. The City of Waco is the entity soliciting these services. The existing lighting system, originally installed in 2015, is currently only partially functional, with approximately 40% of the lights inoperable and maintenance complicated by the need for specialized equipment. The City's objective is to upgrade to a more robust and maintainable system. Contract requirements include the use of the attached original plans as a general guide, and proposals must provide a complete system description, comprehensive material specifications, full-color lighting renderings of the proposed design, and certified wiring diagrams by a Master Electrician. Proposals will be evaluated based on cost, vendor experience, responsiveness, and the quality and compliance of proposed materials.
