Housing Feasibility Analysis

Background
Texas Southern University (TSU) is an elite, Carnegie R2 Institution and proud to be the premiere producer of diversity for building a talent strong Texas. Since its founding in 1927, TSU has evolved from its origins as a small junior college into an elite, nationally competitive institution. TSU currently offers more than 120 undergraduate and graduate programs and concentrations at the baccalaureate, graduate-master, graduate-doctoral, and professional level. These programs are organized into 11 colleges and the campus is situated on more than 150-acres of land in the heart of Houston’s historic Third Ward community.


Work Details
Texas Southern University seeks to establish a contract with a qualified firm to provide a Housing Feasibility Analysis. The firm is expected to conduct a review of current TSU’s housing and compare it with enrollment trends and future enrollment projections by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The analysis should include a review of comparable local off-campus housing, focus groups of various clients to be served by the housing system, exploration and analysis of housing offerings at comparable universities, financial modeling for any new facility, student survey to provide quantitative information about demand for campus housing types, models for managing recommended housing projects, recommendations on the type and size of student housing facilities for the institution, exploration of public-private partnerships, and strategic analysis of future sustainability/financial viability of having housing options.

Period of Performance
A less than four (4) month contract will result from this solicitation.
