Greenville Texas Flag Pole

Background
The City of Greenville, Texas is seeking qualified firms to provide design-build construction services for a new flagpole at the intersection of IH 30 and Wesley Street (Highway 34).
The project aims to enhance the city's visibility and pride through the installation of a prominent flagpole.

Work Details
The project involves the design, construction, and installation of a 190-foot flagpole, including its foundation, borings, electrical systems, lighting, and flags. Specific requirements include:
- One each 190' Ground Set Diminishing Section Steel Flagpole with Electric Winch made from Carbon Steel A-36.
- Exposed Height: 190.0', Overall Height: 210.0', Butt Diameter: 42.0', Top Diameter: 8.625', Wall Thickness: 0.375 inches, Pole Weight (Approx.): 28,000 lbs.
- Wind Load: 130 MPH Unflagged & 90 MPH with a 50X80 Nylon Flag.
- Fittings & Hardware include a Heavy Duty Truck Ball Assembly, Stainless Steel Spindle, Braided Stainless Steel Aircraft Cable, Snap Hooks, Electric Winch, Locking Access Door, and more.
- Two flags measuring 50X80 Texas State Flag Nylon are required.
- Lighting includes LUX-400 LED lights and three light pedestals powder-coated in the color of the flagpole.
- The design must utilize finite element method structural analysis accounting for secondary P-Delta effects on the structure.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over an estimated period leading up to May 26, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the southwestern intersection of IH 30 and Wesley Street (Highway 34) in Greenville, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide bid performance and payment bonds along with liability and statutory worker's compensation insurances.
The City of Greenville must be added as an additional insured on all required insurance policies except for worker's compensation.
Bidders should have significant experience in similar projects.
