NOTICE: THE SOLICITATION OF THE FOLLOWING GOODS AND/OR SERVICES

IS UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE 2166.003(B),

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL

JUSTICE.

THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE (TDCJ) IS CURRENTLY

REQUESTING BIDS TO ESTABLISH A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THE

PROCUREMENT OF A GENERATOR WITH TRANSFER SWITCH.

Background
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is undertaking a construction project to replace an emergency generator and automatic transfer switches at the Michael Unit. This project is authorized under the Texas Government Code 2166.003(B), which pertains to construction projects by TDCJ. The goal of this contract is to procure a new generator and associated equipment to ensure reliable power supply for critical operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide one emergency generator, two automatic transfer switches (ATS), and one docking station as specified in the solicitation. The specific requirements include:
- Emergency Generator: 130kW, 480/277VAC, 3PH, 60Hz, wye, 4-wire, weatherproof housing located at Utility Station #10 /13 Bldg.
- ATS-13: 300A, 480/277VAC, 3PH, 4-wire, NEMA 1 located at electrical room #13-104 /13 Bldg.
- ATS-1: 100A, 480/277VAC, 3PH, 4-wire, NEMA 1 located at electrical room #01-127 /1 Bldg.
- Docking Station: 400A, 480/277VAC, NEMA 3R.

Additionally, the contractor is responsible for removing existing generators and transfer switches from specified locations and installing new equipment according to specifications. Concrete pads may need to be extended based on the size of the new generator.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period defined in the solicitation documents.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Michael Unit located in Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Specific qualifications for installers include having necessary licenses or certifications as required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Additionally, bidders must provide a project schedule within ten days after award and ensure that all elements provided are free from lead-based paint and asbestos-containing materials.
