Garland PD Firing Range Upgrades

Background
The City of Garland is issuing a solicitation for upgrades to the Police Department's firing range located at 13835 County Road 489, Nevada, Texas. The project aims to enhance the existing facilities in alignment with Action Target's design and installation requirements. The upgrades will include replacing the trap and dust collection unit, upgrading the targeting system, and adding two new firing lanes to the handgun portion of the range. This initiative is part of the City’s commitment to providing improved training facilities for law enforcement.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:

1. Upgrading existing firing range systems including replacement of trap and dust collection units.
2. Installing a new targeting system.
3. Adding two additional firing lanes at the handgun section of the existing range.
4. Performing all necessary demolition and construction work while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations at adjacent structures.
5. Complying with all local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations during construction.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and is estimated to be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the bid documents. A mandatory completion date is set by the City.

The work will take place at the Garland Police Department Firing Range located at 13835 County Road 489, Nevada, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Texas Government Code Chapter 2258 regarding prevailing wage rates and must provide a Bid Bond amounting to no less than five percent (5%) of their maximum bid price from a reliable surety company. Additionally, bidders are required to attend a mandatory pre-bid site visit on March 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM (CT) to familiarize themselves with the project site.
