Fort Worth District Office Security Guard

Background
The Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) is soliciting respondents for uniformed armed security guard services for TJJD’s Fort Worth District Office. The purpose of this solicitation is to ensure a safe environment for TJJD staff and reduce the impact of criminal activity on state leased property. TJJD is the state’s juvenile corrections agency, promoting public safety and providing a secure environment for youth in their care.

Work Details
The scope of work includes providing one (1) uniformed armed security guard to be posted at TJJD’s Fort Worth District Office. The guard is required to perform various tasks such as communicating schedule changes, coordinating personnel changes, providing daily supervision of guards, conducting site visits, ensuring prompt arrival and building security, providing replacement/substitute guards when necessary, minimizing security turnover, and conducting criminal background checks on personnel.
Additionally, the guard will be responsible for monitoring the premises, enforcing no loitering or graffiti damage in the lobby, escorting unruly visitors, ensuring secure entrances and exits, maintaining a guest sign-in log, and adhering to a specific daily schedule.

Period of Performance
The contract term consists of an initial term of one (1) year and six (6) months base period with one (1) additional one (1) year renewal option period.
The base period is from September 1, 2024, to February 28, 2026, and the renewal option period is from March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027.
The contract may be renewed at the discretion of TJJD through a written agreement.

Place of Performance
The services are to be performed at TJJD’s Fort Worth District Office located at 2462 E. Long Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76106.
