FM 2499 at FM 3040 Intersection Improvements

Background
The Town of Flower Mound is issuing a Request for Bids (RFB No: 2025-101-B) for the FM 2499 at FM 3040 Intersection Improvements project. The purpose of this contract is to enhance the intersection, which aligns with the Town's mission to improve infrastructure and ensure public safety. The project aims to provide necessary improvements to facilitate better traffic flow and safety at this critical junction.

Work Details
The project involves furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the construction of intersection improvements as detailed in the construction plans and specifications. The work includes approximately 600 linear feet in each direction from the center of the intersection. Key components include:
- Mobilization
- Right-of-way preparation
- Project signs
- Barricades, signs, and traffic handling
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
- Unclassified excavation
- Removal of concrete pavement and sidewalks
- Tree removals (various sizes)
- Installation of drainage structures and curb inlets
- Concrete pavement installation (CRCP)
- Sidewalk pavement installation
- Traffic signal installations including poles, signals, and cables.
The total base bid is estimated at $2,609,400.00 with an alternate bid of $95,200.00.

Period of Performance
The contract period for substantial completion is set at 390 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date, with final completion required within 420 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the intersection of FM 2499 and FM 3040 in Flower Mound, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a proposal guarantee in the form of a cashier’s check, certified check, or acceptable bidder’s bond amounting to not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. Bidders are required to demonstrate qualifications through a list of similar work experience and must provide information on all subcontractors involved if their work exceeds $10,000.00. Additionally, bidders must comply with insurance requirements including general liability coverage.
