Fleet Services Building

Background
The City of Sherman, Texas, is undertaking the design and construction of a new Fleet Services and Public Works Facility to modernize its fleet maintenance operations. The project aims to consolidate various services into a single facility, enhancing efficiency and service delivery. Hidell Associates Architects has been engaged as the Architect of Record for this project.

Work Details
The project involves constructing a new facility that includes:
- Twelve (12) vehicle repair bays for various types of vehicles including full-size trucks and fire apparatus.
- A dedicated tire bay with a full-size truck rack.
- Parts wash area, preventive maintenance repair positions, parts storage, and service counters.
- Administrative offices for Public Works staff, meeting rooms, break areas, and locker facilities.
- The building will be a pre-engineered metal structure with metal wall panels and roof systems.
- The site will also include concrete paving for parking and drive aisles, with provisions for future expansions such as a wash bay and fuel station.

Period of Performance
The estimated construction time for substantial completion is approximately 12 months after the Notice to Proceed is issued. Pre-construction services are expected to take an additional 6 months.

Place of Performance
The facility will be located at 3501 E King Street, Sherman, TX 75092.

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must demonstrate prior experience in constructing government facilities. They must provide proof of bonding capacity for projects of this magnitude and comply with prevailing wage rate requirements. Additionally, the successful bidder must show the ability to provide necessary insurance and bonding as described in the contract agreement.
