Fencing & Security Upgrades (Various Locations), Abilene District

Background
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is issuing this solicitation for the Fencing & Security Upgrades project in the Abilene District. The goal of this contract is to enhance security measures at various TxDOT facilities through the installation of fencing and access control systems. This project aims to ensure the safety and security of TxDOT properties and assets.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing, installing, and programming access control systems including card readers, electrified locksets, door position sensors, gate releases, control panels, intercoms, access control cabling, surge protection, card reader pedestals, and CCTV systems (including NVRs, cameras, POE power injectors, client workstations, and monitors).

The work includes demolition of existing chain link fencing/gates and rebuilding as indicated on the drawings. Clearing of trees, bushes, and vines along the fence line is required. A minimum of 2 feet clearing on each side of the fence line where it is on TxDOT property must be maintained.

The contractor must furnish and install a 9 gauge, 6-foot chain link fence with top rail and 3 strand barbed wire as specified. Installation of cantilever gates, V-track gates, gate operators with safety features compliant with UL-325 standards is also required. The contractor must verify all field conditions and dimensions prior to bidding and installation.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a timeframe that aligns with project specifications as detailed in the contract documents.

- 299 US 80 West in Roby;
- 1200 Gregg Street in Albany;
- 2011 US HWY 180 West in Anson;
- 8361 US HWY 380 West in Aspermont.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all local, state, and federal regulations applicable to construction projects. They are required to have experience with similar projects involving security upgrades and fencing installations. All necessary permits must be obtained by the contractor prior to commencing work.
