Estelle Unit - Replace Cooling Towers #1 & #2 RMF Boiler Room

Background
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is seeking proposals to remove and replace existing cooling towers #1 and #2 in the Regional Medical Facility (RMF) Boiler Room at the Estelle Unit in Huntsville, TX. This project aims to enhance the operational efficiency of the facility's cooling system, which is critical for maintaining appropriate environmental conditions within the medical facility.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Removing existing cooling towers #1 and #2 located in the RMF Boiler Room.
- Installing new cooling towers that meet or exceed current operational standards.
- Providing all necessary materials, labor, equipment, and services to complete the project as specified in the contract documents.
- Submitting a Lump Sum Cost Proposal with an estimated budget of $1,682,800.00, which includes an itemized breakdown of materials, labor costs, overhead, and profit.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications and drawings provided with this solicitation.

Period of Performance
The performance period for this contract shall be 180 days from the date designated in the Notice to Proceed. Mobilization must begin within 30 days of receipt of the Notice to Proceed, with work commencing within 45 days.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Estelle Unit located in Huntsville, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) representation requirements as outlined in Section K of the contract documents. Additionally, contractors must provide proof of performance and payment bonds as well as insurance coverage as specified in Section I.
