Background
The City of Austin seeks to establish a contract with a laboratory that has the capabilities, experience, and understanding of the best methodologies for collection of environmental DNA (eDNA).
The goal of this contract is to apply and analyze results from a wide range of eDNA primers and provide data that is of high resolution and integrity.
This will allow for comparisons with traditional field collection methods and phenotypic-based taxonomic identifications.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
1. Collecting eDNA samples using best practices.
2. Analyzing eDNA results using a variety of primers.
3. Providing data that can be compared with traditional field collection methods.
4. Assisting the City with sampling design and providing specifications for sample kits.
5. Demonstrating qualifications through relevant experience in eDNA sampling, extraction, PCR, metabarcoding, and primer development.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and continue until all obligations are performed or extended by the City’s Chief Procurement Officer.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the jurisdiction of the City of Austin.
Bidder Requirements
Offerors must comply with the Minority-Owned Business Enterprise/Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Program Compliance Plan if required by the Solicitation.
Offerors must also submit a Contract Close-Out MBE/WBE Compliance Report upon completion of work if applicable.
