Emergency Standby (Water/Wastewater) Generator Installations Project

Background
The City of Waco is issuing this solicitation for the Emergency Standby (Water and Wastewater) Generator Installation Project. The project aims to enhance the reliability of water and wastewater services by installing standby generators at critical facilities including the Riverside Water Treatment Plant High Service Pump Station, Riverside Administration Building, Riverside Operations Building, and WMARSS Wastewater Treatment Plant-South Plant Location. This initiative aligns with the city's mission to ensure uninterrupted utility services during emergencies.

Work Details
The project includes all labor, materials, equipment, appurtenances, and incidentals necessary for the installation of generators at specified locations. Key tasks include:
1. Installation of generators and associated switchgear.
2. Demolition and abandonment of existing components as per project specifications.
3. Construction of civil site work including grading, subgrade preparation, paving, concrete curbs, sidewalks, handrails, erosion control measures, and storm drainage systems.
4. Electrical work involving installation of 5 kV and 600 volt cables, terminations, testing, and installation of fused switches.
5. Modifications to existing structures to accommodate new equipment including building door modifications and structural changes for switchgear installation.
6. Implementation of a Trench Safety Plan and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe as detailed in the bid package.

Place of Performance
The installations will take place at various locations in Waco, Texas including:
- Riverside Water Treatment Plant (200 Colcord Ave., Waco TX 76707)
- Riverside Administration Building
- Riverside Operations Building
- WMARSS Wastewater Treatment Plant (1147 Treatment Plant Rd., Waco TX 76706).

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with local regulations regarding bonding and insurance requirements not exceeding 10% of the total bid amount. Additionally, bidders are encouraged to register with Bonfire for electronic bidding submissions.
