Description

Background
The Housing Authority of the City of San Antonio, Texas, also known as Opportunity Home San Antonio (formerly d/b/a San Antonio Housing Authority), is seeking proposals for Elevator Maintenance and Repair Services. Founded in 1937, Opportunity Home has a mission to build and maintain affordable housing for the residents of San Antonio. It serves over 65,000 individuals through various housing programs and is one of the largest housing authorities in Texas.

The organization aims to create dynamic communities and economic growth through local contractor engagement.

Work Details
The selected contractor will provide comprehensive Elevator Maintenance and Repair Services across Opportunity Home properties. This includes conducting annual and five-year inspections, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. The services must cover all aspects of elevator maintenance including machine room checks, car top inspections, hoist way evaluations, pit assessments, and car interior/exterior maintenance.

Contractors must demonstrate experience in similar services and provide a detailed management plan for service delivery.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for one year with the option to renew for up to four additional one-year periods at the discretion of Opportunity Home.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various properties managed by Opportunity Home in San Antonio, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must have a minimum of ten years of professional experience in elevator maintenance and repair. They must be licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Additionally, contractors are required to comply with Section 3 requirements to utilize Section 3 residents and businesses as defined in the RFP.
