Delivery Truck Purchase for Nutrition and Food Service

Background
Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) is seeking proposals for the purchase of a delivery truck for its Nutrition and Food Service Department. This initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of the department to meet the growing demands of the student population. The procurement process follows Texas Education Code § 44.031, which allows for the Request for Proposals (RFP) method.

The contract involves the purchase of one delivery truck with specific requirements:

- Odometer reading not to exceed 250 miles at delivery.

**Specifications include:**
- Engine: Cummins B6.7L, 240-260hp, EPA/CARB 2026 Certified, with a maximum torque of 600-660 lb-ft.
- Transmission: Allison 6-speed automatic.
- Front Axles/Suspension: Meritor MFS series, oil lubricated, rated at 10,000/12,000 lbs.
- Rear Axles/Suspension: Meritor full floating, rated at 19,000 lbs.
- Fuel Tank: Single 90-gallon aluminum tank.
- Cab: Extended cab seating for five with a wheelbase of either 242 or 253 inches.

**Body Specifications:**
- Body Manufacturer: Morgan Corp., Supreme, or Smyrna; minimum size of 24’L x 97”H x 102”W; flat floor with laminated hardwood; E-track cargo control system; LED lighting; Whiting overhead door; Maxon Railift RC Series liftgate with a capacity of 6,000 lbs.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and remain effective until delivery of the vehicle is completed, anticipated by August 1, 2026.

Place of Performance
Delivery is to be made to Central Maintenance & Operations Annex located at 20380 Franz Road, Katy, TX 77449.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and provide a valid IRS Form W-9. They are encouraged to indicate if they are a HUB, MWBE, or SBE vendor. Additionally, vendors must provide proof of insurance as specified in the RFP and submit a Certificate of Interested Parties (Form 1295) electronically.
