Concrete Slab-Giddings Seed Lab

Background
The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), an agency of the State of Texas, issues this Invitation For Bid (IFB) to solicit responses from qualified Bidders for a pour-in-place concrete slab. The slab is to be constructed on TDA property located at 1010 County Road 226, Giddings, Texas 78942. TDA's objective is to obtain the commodities that represent the best value for TDA and the State of Texas.

Work Details
The Successful Bidder shall provide a pour-in-place concrete slab according to TDA’s specifications, which include:

1. Site Preparation and Layout: Confirmation of slab dimensions, elevation, and location per project specifications.
2. Concrete Placement & Finishing.
3. Curing & Quality Assurance: Submit final walk-through for quality to TDA Representative.
4. Final Documentation & Closeout: Provide a minimum 1-year warranty on rendered services and remove all construction debris, restoring the surrounding site to its original condition or better.

Specifications include:
- Concrete slab must comply with ACI 301, ACI 318, or ASTM and applicable local/state codes.
- Dimensions: Thickness: 6 inches; Length: 60 feet; Width: 40 feet.
- Reinforcement using Grade 60 ASTM A615 deformed bars or welded wire reinforcement ASTM A1064.
- Minimum compressive strength of concrete mix should be 4,000 psi unless otherwise specified.

Period of Performance
The Contract shall commence on the Effective Date and continue through satisfactory completion of the project.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at TDA property located at 1010 County Road 226, Giddings, Texas 78942.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must complete and submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan (HSP) as part of their response. The contract value is estimated to exceed $100,000 with a HUB subcontracting goal set at 26% of the contract's value. Bidders must have a current Texas Identification Number issued by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and be current in all required business filings.
