City of Conroe - 0905AS - 2024 Animal Shelter Servies

Background
The City of Conroe, Texas, is seeking a Contractor to provide Animal Shelter administration and daily operations at a City-owned facility in coordination with the City’s Police Department.
The goal of this contract is to ensure effective management and care of animals within the shelter, addressing issues such as animal welfare and public safety.

Work Details
The Contractor will provide the following services:
1. Boarding of animals seized by the City or other governmental entities, including those that are abused, abandoned, or designated as dangerous.
2. Administer vaccinations upon intake and provide necessary medications.
3. Scan for microchips to identify ownership and facilitate the return of animals when appropriate.
4. Provide quality food, water, medications, blankets, toys, and equipment to enhance the chances of adoption for unclaimed animals.
5. Conduct medical and emotional evaluations of animals in care.
6. Implement processes for adoption, fostering, and humane euthanizing when necessary.
7. Maintain a quarantine process for animals as needed.
8. Keep all administrative, veterinarian/medical, and financial records related to services provided under this contract.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period is twenty-four (24) months starting approximately fourteen (14) days after award by the City Council and ending on September 30, 2026.
There is an option to renew for two additional two-year periods if both parties agree.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at a City-owned animal shelter facility located in Conroe, Texas.
