Description

The Texas Military Department is seeking bids for a project that will consist of the removal, restoration, and re-installation of 23 existing historic wood window systems on the north and south sides of building 42. The project will be conducted in one phase, with all 23 windows being addressed at Camp Mabry, 2200 W 35th Street, Austin, TX 78703.

A mandatory site visit will be held at 2200 W 35th Street Austin, TX 78703 at 11:30 A.M. AND 2:30 P.M. on 07/29/2025. Failure to attend one of the two (2) site visits will result in disqualification of

the response. There will be no technical questions answered at this conference.

Background
The Texas Military Department is seeking bids for a project to restore historic wood window systems at Camp Mabry, located at 2200 W 35th Street, Austin, TX 78703. The goal of the contract is to preserve the historical integrity of Building 42 by removing, restoring, and re-installing 23 existing wood window systems on the north and south sides of the building. This project is part of the Texas Army National Guard's efforts to maintain its facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Removal of 23 existing historic wood window systems from Building 42.
2. Restoration of these windows to their original condition, ensuring that historical accuracy is maintained.
3. Re-installation of the restored windows back into their original locations on both the north and south sides of Building 42.
4. All work must comply with applicable historical preservation standards and guidelines as specified in the Scope of Work (SOW) provided in Attachment G.6.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the SOW. All work must be completed by a date determined after contract award.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate compliance with Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) requirements under Texas Government Code Chapter 2161. They are required to submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan (HSP) with their response and make good faith efforts to meet HUB participation goals. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of insurance coverage as specified in the solicitation.
