Building Inspection Services

Background
The City of Temple, Texas is seeking proposals for building inspection, plans examination, and related services. The goal is to find a firm with the necessary experience, capabilities, credentials, and qualified staff to perform these services in compliance with all relevant regulations.

Work Details
The awarded firm will provide residential and commercial building inspection services including:
- Serving as Combination Building Inspector
- Providing necessary personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision
- Consulting construction documents and model building codes
- Reviewing case history
- Approving or denying inspections
- Executing inspections and permits
- Inspecting buildings for compliance with codes
- Making technical inspections of all construction phases
- Identifying violations
- Assisting contractors and the public in understanding building codes
- Addressing complaints from the community
- Preparing reports
- Maintaining inspection logs and records
- Performing post-disaster damage assessments
- Administering Building Codes.
Additionally, the contractor must provide plans examiner/reviewer services including reviewing construction documents for compliance with laws and regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on October 1, 2025, and continue through September 30, 2026. The City reserves the right to extend the contract for four additional one-year periods if mutually agreed upon.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of Temple, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must demonstrate experience in providing similar services to municipalities or public agencies. They must possess a Texas State Plumbing Inspector License, a valid Class C Driver's License, ICC Certificates, and have been established in Texas for over one year. Proposals should include information about qualified staff availability and equipment.
