Background
The Texas Military Department (TMD) is seeking a contractor for turn-key sewer line repair services at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) – Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The goal of this contract is to replace existing cast iron sewer pipes with new Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipes for the 149TH Civil Engineer Squadron located at two buildings: Building 962 and Building 1151.
Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services:
1. Repair by replacement service for Building 962, including:
- Excavation to expose six inches of sewer main up to five feet deep.
- Demolition of the area from Building 962 to a nearby manhole.
- Verification of pipe integrity and elevation for sewer replacement.
- Excavation to expose eight inches of clay piping up to seven feet deep across Hensley Street, including demolition of asphalt and sidewalk areas.
- Replacement of up to 80 feet of piping with PVC Schedule 40 in varying sizes (6 inches and 8 inches).
- Backfilling excavated areas and preparing for concrete patching.
- Construction of a six feet by six feet concrete sidewalk and patching the roadway with concrete.
2. Repair by replacement service for Building 1151, including:
- Demolition of a six feet by three feet area of asphalt for excavation.
- Excavation to expose up to six-inch sewer main not exceeding four feet deep.
- Installation of up to five feet of six-inch PVC piping, including one two-way cleanout.
- Use of hydro jetting as needed and installation of base material and asphalt cold patch.
Period of Performance
The initial contract term is effective upon the notice of award and will expire one year from that effective date.
