Bid 25-69 Construction of Pad - Gun Range

Background
Val Verde County is issuing a request for competitive sealed bids for the construction of an 80’x160’ pad intended for a gun range building. The project is located at 5123 Hwy 277 in Del Rio, TX. The goal of this contract is to provide a solid foundation for the gun range facility, which aligns with Val Verde County's mission to enhance community safety and recreational opportunities.

Work Details
The contract involves labor only for the construction of the pad, with all materials supplied by Val Verde County. Specific tasks include:
- Subgrade preparation compacted to a minimum of 90% Standard Proctor Density.
- Placement and compaction of flexible base material (Grade 3 or 4) in maximum 8-inch loose lifts, compacted to a minimum of 95% Standard Proctor Density.
- Final grading to established elevations using laser levels to ensure smoothness and tolerance for acceptance.
- All associated labor, equipment, and water required for compaction and grading are included in the scope. Exclusions include supply and delivery of flexible base material and hauling services.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence upon contract award and will be determined at a Pre-Construction meeting. The completion date will be established from the effective date of the executed contract or Notice to Proceed.

The work will be performed at 5123 Hwy 277, Del Rio, TX.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid for contracts exceeding $100,000. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract price must be provided by an approved Surety Company within 30 days from contract award. Bidders are encouraged to comply with equal opportunity employment laws.
