Bid 25-65 Construction of Pad - Event Center

Background
Val Verde County is seeking sealed bids from contractors to construct an 80’x185’ pad for a bolt-up pre-engineered building at the Val Verde County Fairgrounds in Del Rio, TX. The purpose of this contract is to provide labor for the construction, with all materials supplied by Val Verde County.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Subgrade preparation, ensuring it is compacted to a minimum of 90% Standard Proctor Density.

2. Placement and compaction of flexible base material (Grade 3 or 4) in maximum 8-inch loose lifts, compacted to a minimum of 95% Standard Proctor Density.

3. Final grading of the base surface using laser levels to ensure smoothness and proper elevation.

The contractor must also maintain safety protocols in compliance with OSHA standards throughout the project.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon execution of the contract and will be determined at a Pre-Construction meeting, with completion timelines established during that meeting.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Val Verde County Fairgrounds located in Del Rio, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a bid bond of 5% for contracts exceeding $100,000. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond each equal to 100% of the contract price must be provided by an approved Surety Company licensed in Texas. Bidders are encouraged to comply with equal opportunity employment laws.
