Bentonite Clay

Background
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeking to purchase Bentonite Clay for the Black Gap Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The goal of this contract is to procure 200 tons of Bentonite Clay as per specified requirements, focusing on meeting the needs of the wildlife management area. Work Details
The contractor is required to provide 200 tons of Bentonite Clay delivered via truckload end dump. The specifications for the clay include:
- Color: Light gray, green, reddish, or TPWD approved equivalent
- Particle size: Less than 1 micrometer
- Density: Between 2.0 to 2.7 g/cm³
- Texture: Soft and fine, easy to crumble
- Water solubility: Insoluble in water
- Plasticity: High
- Cation exchange capacity (CEC): High.

Delivery must be made by May 1, 2025, and pricing should include all costs associated with delivery to the remote site at Black Gap WMA. The contractor must provide one week's notice prior to delivery and coordinate with TPWD's point of contact.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon issuance by TPWD and will expire upon the final acceptance of delivery, which must occur by May 1, 2025.

Place of Performance
Delivery will take place at the Black Gap Wildlife Management Area located in Brewster County on the Rio Grande River adjacent to Big Bend National Park.
