Barber and Beautician Services

Background
The Texas Juvenile Justice Department is issuing a solicitation for Barber and Beautician Services at the McLennan County State Juvenile Correctional Facility located in Mart, Texas. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary hair cutting services for the youth population within the facility, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Work Details
The contract entails providing haircutting services, specifically one haircut per month per youth. This includes regular cuts, #0 - #3 blade cuts, edge-ups, and fades for both boys and girls. The service provider must be a licensed barber and maintain a current license throughout the contract duration. They must also pass background checks and adhere to the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).

The facility will supply all necessary materials for haircuts. Services are expected to be performed in the Campus Barber Shop at the facility during weekdays and daytime hours. The estimated volume of haircuts is approximately 200 to 265 per month, depending on the youth population. Invoices must be submitted by the 10th day of the following month along with a completed Hair Cut Log.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on February 1, 2025, and run through August 31, 2025. There is an option for a one-year extension based on performance and funding availability.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the McLennan County State Juvenile Correctional Facility located at 116 Burleson Rd., Mart, Texas 76664.
