Description

Asbestos Abatement & Demolition Of Commercial Properties (4)
Background
The City of Port Arthur, Texas, is seeking bids for the asbestos abatement and demolition of four commercial properties. The project aims to address unsafe and unsanitary structures as mandated by the Code Enforcement/Inspections Department. This initiative aligns with the city's mission to ensure public safety and improve community standards.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks at each specified location:

1. 7555 3rd Avenue: Remove all concrete, slab, wood pylons, trash, debris, high grass, and underbrush (No Asbestos/No Lead).

2. 2200 Gulfway Drive: Remove all concrete, slab, fence, electrified light poles (2 rear poles on the west side), parking blocks, drive-thru sign, marquee sign mount (2 mounts in island), trash, debris, high grass, and underbrush; leave 2 light poles in rear (east side) and entire parking lot slab/island/flagpole (No Asbestos/Lead).

3. 2145 Memorial Blvd: Remove all concrete, slab, sidewalks, scrap metal, trash, debris, high grass, and underbrush (Asbestos/No Lead).

4. 3189 25th Street: Remove all concrete/concrete pile in rear/slab/fence poles/downed trees/tree stumps/trash/debris/high grass/underbrush (Asbestos/Lead).

Additionally, the contractor must safely disconnect utilities before demolition and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials according to local regulations. All debris must be removed from the site promptly.

Period of Performance
The contract period is expected to commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed within ten days after contract execution and will continue until all work is completed satisfactorily as per the contract specifications.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at four locations within Port Arthur, Texas: 7555 3rd Avenue; 2200 Gulfway Drive; 2145 Memorial Blvd; and 3189 25th Street.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of insurance including Statutory Workman's Compensation Insurance and General Liability Insurance with specified minimum coverage amounts. Bidders are required to have a Landfill Permit with a minimum escrow account of $1,000. Additionally, bidders must not have outstanding debts with the City of Port Arthur and must comply with local business regulations.
