Apparel Destruction Services for APD Uniforms

Background
The City of Austin requires confidential and secure uniform, workwear, and related apparel destruction services for the Police Department. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the destruction of these items is conducted in a manner that maintains confidentiality and security.

The services will be performed at the Police Department located at 715 East 8th Street, Austin, Texas 78701.

Work Details
The contractor will provide destruction services for uniforms and related apparel through methods such as incineration or shredding, ensuring complete destruction with documentation provided to the Contract Manager.

The contractor must supply lockable, secure bins for collection at no additional cost. Bins must be delivered within 20 business days of contract award and should have a capacity of 85-100 gallons. Destruction services will occur on the same day items are picked up from City locations, with scheduled pickups mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the Contract Manager.

The contractor must allow City representatives to witness the destruction process upon request and provide proof of destruction documentation at each service performance.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is twelve (12) months, with options for up to four (4) additional twelve-month extensions at the City's discretion.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations designated by the City of Austin, primarily at the Police Department located at 715 East 8th Street, Austin, Texas 78701.

Bidder Requirements
The contractor must have a minimum of three (3) years of operating experience in providing uniform and apparel destruction services. They must also meet applicable federal, state, and local licensing requirements for operating vehicles and equipment used in fulfilling contract terms.

Additionally, all personnel assigned to this project must wear uniforms that clearly display the Contractor's name.
