A/E RFQ - Texas A&M AgriLife Rio Grande Valley Research Center at McAllen

Background
The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C) is soliciting statements of qualifications for the selection of an Architect/Engineer (A/E) firm for the Texas A&M AgriLife Rio Grande Valley Research Center at McAllen project (#06-3453).
This initiative aims to enhance research capabilities in the Rio Grande Valley and is part of Texas A&M AgriLife Research's mission to expand its research initiatives.
The new facility will be strategically located on the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen campus.

Work Details
The project involves the design and construction of a new research center totaling 43,584 gross square feet (GSF), which equates to 25,279 assignable square feet (ASF) at 58% efficiency.
The facility will include:
- Open laboratories and dedicated support spaces with procedure rooms and equipment space.
- Shared laboratory support designed for long-term flexibility using standardized laboratory modules.
- Organized delivery systems for laboratory piped services, exhaust, power, and data.
- Clinical research facilities including a clinical exam room and community-based research areas such as a fitness room and studio kitchen.
- A fabrication center for developing and prototyping sensors and controls to maintain food systems' biosecurity.
- Student center spaces including commons areas, a flag room, gaming space, food service areas adaptable to enrollment growth, a retail storefront, and an office suite for student services.

Period of Performance
The qualifications must be submitted by 2:00 pm Central Time on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen campus in McAllen, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit qualifications through e-Builder as specified in the RFQ documents.
The Owner may select three or more top qualified respondents for interviews.
