401(K) Profit-Sharing Plan Audit Services Request for Proposal (RFP)

Background
The Community Action Corporation of South Texas (CACOST) is a private non-profit organization established in 1971 and funded through State and Federal grants and fees for service. CACOST has a workforce of approximately 700 employees and a service area consisting of sixteen South Texas counties. The mission of CACOST is to continuously improve the lives of South Texans by providing high-quality healthcare, education, housing, and economic opportunities to reduce poverty through services and partnerships.

Work Details
CACOST is seeking proposals from independent certified public accountants and/or accounting firms, certified in Texas, to conduct an annual independent audit of the agency’s employee 401(k) Profit-sharing plans in accordance with general accepted auditing standards (GAAS), ERISA, and DOL regulations.
The required filing must include the plan’s audited financial statements. CACOST has a 401(k) plan year ending January 31st, which consists of 630 participants, with approximately $15,591,531 in total assets.
Mutual of America (custodian), prepares the plan’s financial statements, Summary Annual Reports, and a draft 5500.
The plan audit report must be completed no later than November 15th.

Period of Performance
The term of this Agreement is for a one-year period, beginning August 09, 2024, with mutually agreeable extensions, subject to evaluation for continuance or modifications, for up to a (4) year term.
