Background
Maury County Parks and Recreation is soliciting proposals for the construction and finishing of a natural surface, mixed-use trail at Yanahli Park, located at 922 Iron Bridge Road, Columbia, TN 38401. The goal of this project is to complete sections of the trail that remain unfinished while adhering to best practices for sustainable trails and the Yanahli Park Master Plan.
Work Details
The project consists of three sections totaling approximately 3 miles:
1) Bluff Section (red): 0.8-mile wooded section on the western boundary from the park office south to a river access point;
2) South Section (green): 1.4-mile section roughed in with a forestry mulcher from the end of wetlands bypass eastward;
3) North Section (blue): 0.8-mile section continuing north from an access road crossing to connect with an existing mowed trail.
The cleared width must be 9 feet and trail width must be 5 feet. Construction will follow sustainability best practices, preserving native flora and habitats. Proposals must be priced per linear foot, and construction must begin within 30 days of notification to the successful proposer. Documentation supporting prior experience in natural surface trail construction, references for similar projects, PTBA membership, and a General Contractor’s License are required.
