MNPD Crime Lab Quantitation and Amplification Kits and Validation Services

Background
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro) is issuing this solicitation for the MNPD Crime Lab Quantitation and Amplification Kits and Validation Services to support the Metro Nashville Police Department Crime Laboratory (MNPD-CL FBU).

The goal is to update and replace current quantitation and amplification methods used since 2014, leveraging vendor validation services to enhance forensic DNA results.

Work Details
The contractor will provide quantitation kits and amplification kits that meet specified requirements, including:
- ISO accreditation.
- Onsite demonstration of the kits.
- Validation services compliant with QAS, including precision studies, sensitivity studies, and contamination assessments.
- Training for MNPD-CL FBU staff on validation results.

Specific requirements for the quantitation kit include compatibility with ABI 7500 Real-Time PCR systems, the ability to quantify DNA from various sources, and producing results within one hour.

The amplification kit must also be compatible with the quantitation kit and capable of amplifying human genomic DNA from diverse samples. The contractor must disclose any unresolved issues with the proposed kits.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to last for five (5) years, with purchases made on an as-needed basis via Purchase Order. No minimum or maximum purchase amounts are guaranteed.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Metro Nashville Police Department Crime Laboratory located in Nashville, TN.
