Ladder Testing Services (Fire Dept)

Background
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro) is seeking proposals for ladder testing services for the Metro Fire Department. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and compliance of fire department ladders through non-destructive testing and inspection according to the latest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide non-destructive testing and inspection services for aerial ladders, platforms, and ground ladders. Specific requirements include:
- Inspections must adhere to NFPA 1911 and 1932 standards.
- Testing shall occur annually at a minimum or after any incidents that may compromise ladder integrity.
- The contractor must have certified Level II Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technicians.
- Detailed reports with digital images must be provided on the same day as inspections.
- Ground ladders must be tested under various conditions including after exposure to heat or overloading.
- Aerial inspections will include visual checks, load tests, and operational timing tests among others.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to last for five (5) years from the effective date, with no guaranteed minimum or maximum purchase amounts.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within Nashville Davidson County, Tennessee at locations determined by the Logistics Division of the Nashville Fire Department.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a Certificate of Insurance within seven days of receiving an intent to award letter. Required insurance includes: Products Liability Insurance ($1 million), General Liability Insurance ($1 million), Automobile Liability Insurance ($1 million), and Worker's Compensation Insurance with statutory limits. Additionally, bidders must comply with all applicable laws regarding employment practices.
