Burial and Cremation Services

Background
The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro) is issuing this Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Burial and Cremation Services as part of the Metro Social Services Indigent Burial Program. The goal of this contract is to provide dignified burial and cremation services for eligible participants in the program, ensuring that those in need receive appropriate care and respect in their final arrangements.

Work Details
The contractor will provide the following services:

- Transportation of deceased individuals within Davidson County to cemeteries.
- Opening and closing gravesites.
- Provision of adequate concrete boxes for burials.
- Grave markers with names and dates.
- Caskets or urns based on family preferences.

Specific requirements include:

- Transportation of deceased persons to cemetery and gravesite.
- Gravesites located in Metro-owned cemeteries or purchased plots.
- Burials in Veterans Cemeteries if applicable.
- Casket options including various sizes and finishes (e.g., doeskin cloth over wood, metal finishes).
- Cremation services including urns for both children and adults. All services must comply with federal, state, local laws, and Metro Code 2.36.090.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for a period of five years from the date of award.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within Davidson County, Tennessee.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of insurance including Products Liability Insurance, General Liability Insurance, Professional Liability Insurance, Automobile Liability Insurance, Worker's Compensation Insurance with statutory limits, and any other required insurances as specified in the solicitation. Additionally, bidders must comply with Equal Business Opportunity (EBO) Program requirements; however, no specific EBO goal is established for this solicitation.
