Big Ridge No. 2 Pump Station Improvements

Background
The City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, is seeking bids for the Big Ridge No. 2 Pump Station Improvements project. This project aims to enhance the wastewater infrastructure in the area, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with environmental standards.

The improvements are part of a broader initiative to upgrade the city's wastewater management systems.

Work Details
The project includes providing construction supervision, labor, materials, tools, test equipment, and other necessary activities for the Big Ridge No. 2 Pump Station Improvements. Specific tasks include:
- Construction of approximately 120 linear feet of 10-inch Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP)
- Installation of a sanitary sewer manhole structure
- Installation of two new submersible pumps
- Installation of new valves on the existing sanitary sewer downstream
- Rehabilitation protective coating to the wet well
- Construction of a new canopy
- Coordination of electrical systems.

Bypassing during construction is expected. The pump station consists of a wet well and valve structure, pumps and controls, electrical systems, site work, and a 10-inch DIP discharge pipeline.

Period of Performance
The project is allotted a total construction time of 251 days from the Notice to Proceed date. Construction is expected to start on September 8, 2025, and conclude by May 18, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Big Ridge No. 2 Pump Station located near the intersection of Gann Store Road and Lake Resort Drive in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed by the State of Tennessee to perform work under this contract. Each bid must include a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) from a surety company licensed to do business in Tennessee. Bidders must demonstrate adequate construction experience and sufficient equipment resources.
