BID 25-28, Control Updates at Lookout Mountain Elementary

Background
Hamilton County Schools (HCS) is seeking to contract with a qualified vendor to update the building automation and control system at Lookout Mountain Elementary. The goal of this contract is to enhance the efficiency and functionality of the school's HVAC and control systems, ensuring they meet modern standards and operational requirements.

Work Details
The vendor will be responsible for changing out the existing building automation and control system, which includes:

- Furnishing and installing all necessary hardware, wiring, computing equipment, and software.
- Providing conduit stub outs within walls.
- Running HVAC control cables in cable trays.
- Providing updated controls software for the HCDE central site computer.
- Ensuring all electrical wiring is uniform in color.
- Turning over all existing control modules removed.

The system must include standard components that have been tested prior to installation, modular architecture for future expansion, and must perform all specified functions upon completion. Specific products to be furnished but not installed include:

- Flow meters
- Temperature sensors
- Control valves
- Automated dampers
- VAV boxes configured for external controller inputs
- Packaged AHU controls
- Unit ventilators
- Variable frequency drives with Modbus or BACnet interfaces
- Support for third-party equipment integration.

Period of Performance
The contract period is expected to begin on May 8, 2025. The construction term will last 335 calendar days to substantial completion, followed by an additional 30 calendar days from substantial completion to final completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Lookout Mountain Elementary School located at 321 N Bragg Ave, Lookout Mountain, TN 37350.
