Description

The City of Hendersonville is accepting separate bids for the following Annual Traffic Signs and Posts. Bids must be submitted by October 31, 2024, for opening at 10:00AM in the Public Works Office. The City reserves the right to refuse any and all bids. The City reserves the right to refuse any and all bids.Sealed bids will be received by the City of Hendersonville, Public Works Department, for the furnishing of all materials and supplying of all labor necessary to provide Annual Traffic Signs and Posts within the City of Hendersonville City Limits.Copies of the contract documents may be examined and obtained at the Public Works Department, located at Hendersonville City Hall, 101 Maple Drive North, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075.Complete specifications are included in the attachment below.
Background
The City of Hendersonville is issuing a Request for Bids for the Annual Traffic Signs and Posts project.

The Public Works Department is responsible for managing this contract, which aims to furnish all materials and labor necessary to provide traffic signs and posts within the city limits. This project aligns with the city's commitment to maintaining safe and effective traffic control measures.

Work Details
The contractor will supply various types of traffic signs including Regulatory (R Series), Warning (W Series), and Guide (M & D Series) signs in specified dimensions and quantities.

The detailed list includes:
- 9" x 12" (10 EA)
- 9" x 15" (10 EA)
- 12" x 6" (10 EA)
- 12" x 18" (10 EA)
- 12" x 36" (20 EA)
- up to sizes like 120" x 24" (10 EA).

Additionally, street name signs, school zone signs, and miscellaneous sign items are included. The contractor must ensure that all materials comply with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and other relevant standards. All signs must be high intensity grade, with reflective sheeting conforming to AASHTO M 268 specifications. The contractor is also responsible for providing U-Channel posts, caps, crosses, and decorative posts as specified in the bid proposal.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for two years with options for up to three automatic one-year extensions.

If either party wishes to terminate the automatic extension, they must provide written notice at least 30 days before the contract expiration date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed within the City of Hendersonville city limits.
