406 Haynes Drive Rehab- Bathrooms, Waterlines, and Exterior Painting

Background
The City of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, through its Community Development Department, is issuing a contract for the rehabilitation of the property located at 406 Haynes Drive. This project is funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, which aims to provide federal financial assistance for housing rehabilitation. The goal of this contract is to improve the living conditions of residents by addressing critical repairs and lead-based paint hazards in the home.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Replace waterlines in the crawl space from fixtures to the exterior shut-off valve, including new stop valves and supply lines.

2. Abate lead-based paint (LBP) items including two sets of mini blinds, soffit and fascia, and ceramic floor tiles in two bathrooms.

3. Remove wall tile and tub/shower units in both bathrooms.

4. Install a new tub/shower in bathroom #1 and a low step-in shower in bathroom #2.

5. Prep floors and walls for new finishes, including laminate flooring installation in bathroom #1.

6. Patch or replace drywall as necessary during work and paint all affected areas.

7. Control dust and debris during work and ensure final cleanup of all surfaces within the work area.

Period of Performance
The contractor must commence work within fifteen (15) days after issuance of the Proceed Order and complete all work within forty-five (45) days thereafter.

Place of Performance
The rehabilitation work will be performed at 406 Haynes Drive, Murfreesboro, TN 37130.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed contractors as required by Tennessee law for contracts exceeding $25,000. The contractor must also comply with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, ensuring that opportunities are provided to lower-income residents for training and employment.
